About the Adam’s Apple

by Kids Discover

The Adam’s apple is that part of the larynx, or voice box, that sticks out in front of a man’s throat. Men and women both have the cartilage that forms it, but when a boy hits puberty, his grows bigger. The larger larynx is why men generally have deeper voices than women.
