Camels in the Arctic

We think of camels as desert beasts, but an ancient ancestor once roamed the Arctic. Fossils found on Ellesmere Island in northern Canada came from a prehistoric creature about 10 feet tall, and scientists say it’s related to the single-humped Arabian camel, or dromedary.
