How High Is the Sky?

The sky is 62 miles high. That’s where space begins, as defined by the Kármán line, a commonly recognized boundary marking the end of Earth’s atmosphere. It was named after aeronautical scientist Theodore von Kármán, who came up with the idea in the 1950s.
