Abraham Lincoln, our sixteenth president, was the tallest U.S. head of state at 6 feet 4 inches, although thirty-sixth President Lyndon B. Johnson came close at 6 feet 3.5 inches. Our fourth President, James Madison, was the shortest at just 5 feet 4 inches.
