The legendary Orient Express began traveling between Paris and Istanbul in 1883. It was an exciting journey—sometimes royalty would rent out entire cars for their private use, giving the train the nickname, “the King of Trains and the Train of Kings.” A modern-day company bought some of the original carriages from the 1920s and ‘30s and now the line is known as the Venice Simplon-Orient Express.
