Does Saturn’s moon Mimas look like the Death Star from Star Wars? A giant crater — named after English astronomer William Herschel, who discovered Mimas in 1789 — covers a third of its surface. Astronomers say that whatever hit Mimas and left the crater almost shattered the moon.
