Jackson Haines: Visionary Ice Skater

by Kids Discover

American ice skater Jackson Haines was the first to use music in routines, attach blades directly to his boots, use a toe pick, and add dance moves (like jumps and spins) to his skating. His acrobatic style didn’t catch on in the U.S. until years after his 1879 death.
