Who Were the Jomon?

by Kids Discover

Japan’s earliest known major culture was created by the Jomon people, perhaps as far back as 10,500 B.C. The name refers to the cord patterns on their pottery. Historians think rice farming was introduced to Japan in the Final Jomon period, which ended around 300 B.C.
