Sneaky Trapdoor Spiders

The trapdoor spider digs a tube-shaped tunnel, usually in the side of an embankment. Lined with spider silk and topped with a hinged lid, the tunnel protects the spider from predators. And when the spider (a relative of the tarantula) senses something tasty, it pops out and reels in its meal!
