Leapin’ Larvae!

Caterpillars of the southeast Asian moth Calindoea trifascialis will roll up a leaf into a tiny pouch and live in it for two to three days. They attach to the inside and make the pouch move by jumping. This tent-like “retreat” foils predators and stays cool in the dry, open forest.
