What’s in a Sinus?

Your sinuses are four air-filled spaces that surround your eyes and nose. The largest are the maxillary sinuses, which sit in each cheekbone. Usually sinuses contain only a thin layer of mucus, but a sinus infection or allergies can cause them to fill up with fluid.
