Do Ants Fly?

Gliding ants are rainforest tree-dwellers that can control their fall when knocked off a branch — even making 180-degree turns in midair! Falling ants flatten out to slow and control their flight. Most of the time, they land on or near the tree they fell from and return to where they started.
