The Nazca Lines are an ancient assortment of geoglyphs, or large designs, etched in the Peruvian desert. Patterns include animals, shapes, and human figures — some as wide as two football fields! No one knows what the lines were for, but they may have served some ritual purpose. (Pablo Hidalgo / Shutterstock)
