The world’s largest living butterfly is Queen Alexandra’s Birdwing, named after the wife of England’s King Edward VII. Females can have wingspans of up to one foot! This rare, endangered species dwells only in the rainforests of northern Papua New Guinea. (Photo © by Naturhistorisches Museum Wien; Photographer Thomas Neubauer)
