Flying the Flag

Today is Memorial Day, when we honor people who died while serving in the U.S. military. Tradition holds that the American flag be flown at half-staff until noon, to honor the dead, and then raised to full staff to honor service members who are carrying on their mission. (Tammy Kay / Shutterstock)
