Celebrate Juneteenth

Today is Juneteenth, a national celebration marking the end of slavery in America. On this date in 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, with word that the Civil War was over and slaves were free. In 1980, Juneteenth became an official Texas state holiday.
