A home plate from Shea Stadium, the historic home of the New York Mets, flew on the space shuttle Atlantis in 2009. Lots of strange things have hitched rides on shuttles, including NASCAR starter flags, a Buzz Lightyear doll, and a Star Wars lightsaber!
