Leonardo\’s Contact Lenses

Leonardo da Vinci had the idea for contact lenses around 1508! But the first glass contact lenses that corrected nearsightedness weren’t made until 1889, by Germany’s August Müller. California optician Kevin Tuohy created the first plastic contacts in 1948.
