Airship Across the Arctic

In 1926, Lincoln Ellsworth, Roald Amundsen, and Umberto Nobile flew from Norway to Alaska in the Norge, the first aircraft to cross the Arctic Ocean, the world’s smallest. They chose an airship partly because it could hold more cargo and stay aloft longer than a plane.
