From Banana to Bioplastic

At 16, Turkey’s Elif Bilgin won a Google Science Fair award for her plan to turn banana peels into a bioplastic. She tried 10 times to create something sturdy and stable enough, and finally came up with a plastic that could be used in artificial limbs and cable insulation.
