A Better Sandbag

Inspired by Hurricane Sandy, 11-year-old Peyton Robertson of Fort Lauderdale, FL, invented the Sandless Operational Sandbag (SOS) in 2013. Filled with salt and a chemical substance that expands in water, the SOS is lighter, easier to store, and more efficient than a regular sandbag.
