The plant-eating pachycephalosaurus, or “thick-headed dinosaur,” had a knobby, spike-fringed skull. Because its dome-like head bone was porous, not solid, scientists think pachycephalosaurs didn’t engage in head-to-head combat but instead butted other animals’ sides.
