Bugs Doing the Backstroke

Backswimmers are water bugs that swim belly-up. They have keel-shaped backs and long hind legs that act as oars. Usually found in ponds or quiet waters, they catch prey such as insects and tadpoles with a stinging bite. They’ll also sting people if handled, so don’t touch!
