At 113 years old, the Centennial Light is the world’s longest-burning lightbulb. Installed at the Livermore Fire Department in 1901, it’s been off only a few times, like when the California fire station moved in 1976. The hand-blown bulb’s filament is eight times thicker than a modern bulb’s.
