In 2013, China became the third nation (after the U.S. and former Soviet Union) to put a rover on the moon. The first to travel across Earth’s satellite in more than 40 years, the Jade Rabbit sent back pictures, but its mission was cut short when it broke down in early 2014. It’s unable to move, but is still reporting back data of its surroundings.
