Under Lake Mead

by Kids Discover

Lake Mead is the largest reservoir in the U.S. Created by the Hoover Dam in the 1930s, it drowned many things, including St. Thomas, Nevada. Owing to a drought, that town’s ruins are now visible, but many treasures remain submerged — including a B-29 bomber that crashed in 1948. (Phillip Bird / Shutterstock)
