Marvelous Mesas

A mesa, which means “table” in Spanish, is a broad, elevated area with steep sides, formed by erosion and weathering and commonly found in dry climates. The flat top is made of tough rock known as caprock. One of the world’s largest is the Grand Mesa in Colorado.
