Mount Etna: Europe’s biggest active

Europe’s biggest, most active volcano is Italy’s Mount Etna, on the east coast of Sicily. It’s one of 16 “Decade Volcanoes” considered worth studying thanks to their frequent activity and closeness to humans. Two others: Hawaii’s Mauna Loa and Washington’s Mount Rainier.
