Plants Sweat Too

by Kids Discover

Plants “sweat” through a process called transpiration. Leaves release water into the air when it’s warm out, cooling off the plant and the area around it. On a large scale, like in a big forest, transpiration can cool a wide area by creating more rain or cloud cover. (Agata / Shutterstock)
