Pretty Poison: The Pipevine Swallowtail Butterfly

Found in North and Central America, the pipevine swallowtail butterfly is poisonous to predators, even though it lives on flower nectar. Its larvae eat only pipevine plants, like Dutchman’s pipe, which are poisonous to most animals and make the insects toxic too.
