Roman Water Bridge

The Pont du Gard aqueduct is a first-century Roman waterway that crosses the Gardon River in the south of France. The three-story bridge helped bring water to the city of Nemausus (now Nîmes). Archaeologists say the project was highly organized, all the way down to numbered stones.
