The Slow Loris

The slow loris is among the few mammals with a toxic bite. These nocturnal natives of South and Southeast Asia rub venom from glands near their armpits onto their teeth before delivering a potentially fatal chomp. Mother lorises are thought to smear poison onto babies to protect them.
