Snowboarding on Mars

Scientists say the long grooves, or “linear gullies,” photographed on Martian sand dunes may be created by blocks of frozen carbon dioxide, aka dry ice. When temperatures rise, the blocks slowly evaporate, “snowboarding” downhill on thin layers of gas before vanishing.
