The official term for a spacewalk is an “extravehicular activity,” or EVA. Russia’s Anatoly Solovyev holds the world record: 16 EVAs adding up to more than 82 hours floating in space. NASA’s Michael López-Alegría is the U.S. record-holder with 10 spacewalks at over 67 hours.
