The Old Globe

The Nürnberg Terrestrial Globe is the oldest existing scale model of Earth. Created around 1492 by German explorer Martin Behaim, it was called the Erdapfel (“Earth apple”). Based on then-current discoveries, it is not very accurate — but its axis tilts at the right angle.
