The Tower of Hercules

by Kids Discover

The Tower of Hercules is the oldest Roman lighthouse still used as a lighthouse. Built at the edge of Spain’s La Coruña harbor, its original parts date to the first century A.D. It was extensively restored in the 18th century, and has had many upgrades to its signaling system. (Anibal Trejo / Shutterstock)
