Tracking Down Troy

The Greek poet Homer’s story of the Trojan War may have been set in what we now call Turkey. In 1870, German adventurer Heinrich Schliemann excavated a site believed to be Troy in northwestern Turkey, where nine cities were built on top of one another over many centuries.
