When Gold Isn\’t Gold

Nordic gold, a metal alloy used in some Swedish and Euro coins, actually contains no gold: It’s made mostly of copper, along with aluminum, zinc, and tin. It was developed in part because it hardly ever causes allergic reactions — unlike nickel, a common allergen.
