Whose Day Is It?

We call today Presidents’ Day, but officially it’s George Washington’s Birthday. To honor the first U.S. president, Congress made February 18 a federal holiday in 1800. Less formally, it now includes Abraham Lincoln, born February 12, and sometimes all American presidents.
