As we officially close out 2024 and turn the page to a new year, I’m filled with gratitude and pride for all that we’ve accomplished together at Kids Discover. This past year, Kids Discover celebrated its 33rd year in business, a testament to the passion, creativity, and dedication of our entire team, both past and present, as well as the unwavering support from educators, parents, and students who make our mission possible.
Reflecting on 2024: A Year of Growth
and Expanded Impact
In 2024, we reached new milestones in our mission to get kids excited about reading and learning. From expanding our digital content library to launching new interactive experiences, we made significant strides in delivering high-quality, engaging educational materials to classrooms, school libraries, and homes across the country.
We saw tremendous growth in our K-6 Social Studies Program this past year. For years and years, elementary social studies curricula were deprioritized in an effort to allocate time, energy, and resources in promoting ELA and STEM programs. But there is a renaissance movement to update, innovate, and modernize social studies lessons in this country, and we are thrilled to be at the center of this important work.
Additionally, our wonderfully talented Editorial Team continued to prioritize the development and expansion of our resources for emergent and early elementary readers. Our KD en Español product line also expanded, with an additional 22 Titles printed and published to support our dual language and ESOL customers. The popularity of our KD en Español product line reinforces our continued investment in Spanish translated products, and will continue into the new year and beyond.
A true highlight from the fall was the release of our virtual Scavenger Hunts experience on Kids Discover Online. Offered both as a whole class and student-centered activity, Scavenger Hunts promote close-reading and research skills, with a high dosage of fun. It was so rewarding for our Product Team to hear the positive feedback and learn of the pure enjoyment students experienced when doing them as a class. With a new Scavenger Hunt set to release each and every month, we’ll have a robust and growing collection of thematic Scavenger Hunts into the future.

As we step into 2025, we’re more excited than ever about what’s on the horizon. As always, our mission to get kids excited about reading and learning is our north star, and our determination to provide our community of educators and parents with the highest level of service is our driving force. This year, we’re introducing several new initiatives and products designed to empower educators and inspire students. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming up:
1. Accessibility
A big theme for us at Kids Discover this year is making our products accessible to each and every learner. This includes new accessibility tools and support for striving and dyslexic students, with an exciting partnership to be announced next week.
2. New Videos
We have over a dozen new narrated videos in the works, and we’ll be releasing multiple new videos each and every month. Perfect for a lesson primer or a lesson supplement, our Editorial Team is accelerating production to meet the demand we are seeing from educators and students alike.
3. Updated Website
Kidsdiscover.com is getting a BIG upgrade in the coming months. The redesigned website will improve our ecommerce, order tracking, and customer service experience. It’s also going to look really, really pretty!
4. Enhanced Educator Tools
Supporting educators remains at the heart of what we do. In 2025, we’ll roll out an upgraded suite of educator tools on Kids Discover Online, including an intuitive lesson planning system. These tools will streamline the teaching process, saving educators time while empowering them to deliver impactful and succinct lessons.
