To kickoff the beginning of the holiday season, RIF visited DC Prep 8th-graders to distribute the first batch of new Print Titles!
As a family owned and operated company, the holidays always mark a time of celebration and giving here at Kids Discover.
That’s why Reading Is Fundamental immediately came to mind when we were thinking of ways to connect with new communities this holiday season. They have a long history of serving children across the country with free resources to promote literacy, and we’re big fans of their work. Did you know that in 2016, they distributed a total of 2,624,214 books to students across the country?
So, we were very excited when Reading is Fundamental agreed to partner with us with a buy-one-give-one model this holiday season. For every Kids Discover Print Title purchased on www.kidsdiscover.com, we’re donating one to Reading Is Fundamental’s Literacy Central.
That means that for every title you buy for your classroom or children, another student will receive a copy of Kids Discover, and their teacher will have the option to download the supplementary Teacher Guides and Power Vocabulary packets to use them in the classroom. Our Print Titles make a great foundation for a child’s personal nonfiction collection at home, too.

We were proud to be one of the first partners to place emphasis on the older reader – from ages 9-14 years old. By getting quality nonfiction into the hands of tweens and middle schoolers, we hope to instill them with a sense of discovery and personal interest in their own learning. With this partnership, our joint mission is to bring the power and excitement of nonfiction to kids across the nation.

And we’re proud to support them in opening new doors for kids interested in subjects ranging from Ancient Japan to Electricity to Rain Forests. (Check out our complete library here!) We believe that when students are able to access materials they can get truly excited about, real learning begins.
