The Real Lost World: Mount Roraima

Said to have inspired Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s novel The Lost World, South America’s Mount Roraima is a flat-topped mountain bounded by vertical cliffs nearly a quarter-mile high. Many unique species live on it, and waterfalls flow down the sides, fed by rain that falls almost every day.
