The Smell of Space

Astronauts say space has a special, weird smell. Various NASA personnel report they noticed a “metallic” and “acrid” odor when docking at the International Space Station. ISS veteran Don Pettit (pictured here)said the smell reminded him of working with an arc-welding torch.
